Description

This seminar-based module provides an overview of the archaeology of Cyprus from its earliest beginnings to the dawn of the historical period. Making use of recent archaeological data, it charts developments on the island from the earliest signs of human activity until the beginning of the Cypro-Archaic period, focusing especially on some of the main problems raised by the archaeological record and its interpretation. It also considers the history of archaeological exploration on Cyprus, and the intellectual contexts which have shaped this.
